Backspace Support

Something not working, or a question about your subscription? Write to sergiusil@proton.me and say what happened, which iPhone you have and which iOS version. One person reads that mailbox, and you will normally hear back within two business days.

There is no account and no password, so there is nothing to recover — just email us.

The scan finds nothing, or too little

I deleted something by mistake

Open the Photos app → Albums → Recently Deleted, select the item and tap Recover. iOS keeps deleted items there for up to 30 days. After that, or once the album is emptied, they cannot be recovered — not by us and not by the app.

The space did not go down after deleting

Deleted items stay in Recently Deleted for up to 30 days and keep taking space until then. Empty that album in Photos to free the space straight away. If iCloud Photos is on, iOS may also take a little while to update the storage figure.

A video would not shrink

Slow-motion, edited and some other special videos cannot be re-encoded and are skipped. A video stored only in iCloud has to be downloaded first, so keep a connection on. If an ordinary video still fails, email us the approximate time you tried and the video's length.

The speaker tone

Disconnect headphones and Bluetooth speakers first — the tone has to come out of the phone itself. Hold the phone speaker-side down and let the tone run to the end; repeat if the sound is still muffled. It is not a repair: if the phone was submerged or the sound does not come back, contact Apple or an authorised service provider.

Managing your subscription

Subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by us. We never see your card.

If a purchase went through and access did not appear, try Restore Purchases first, then write to us — include the Apple receipt so we can find it.

Your photos

Your photos and videos never leave your iPhone: every scan and every compression runs on the device, and we have no server that receives them. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy: https://great-apps-s.github.io/backspace/privacy
